high-bay warehouse Bretthauer in Dillenburg

The traditional company BRETTHAUER based in Dillenburg-Frohnhausen was extended by a warehouse, which was built in a construction gap between two existing production halls. So storage capacities were reorganized and enlarged and additional areas were developed for production. Within the built-up area of about 2,000 square meters, about 22,000 cubic meters and the use of the permissible building height of 12.50 m, a shelf height of 9.40 m is achieved. Due to the he necessary relocation of material silos into the rear flank of the high-bay warehouse, the total capacity could be expanded to 6 silos. The delivery zone and transition to existing buildings are lower in the building cubature and thus form a structural context to the existing buildings. This gain has set a new milestone in the company's expansion.

kindergarden and family centre

The new kindergarden and family centre in Wetzlar-Niedergirmes arose from the conversion of an existing kindergarden and a new building in the adjacent former allotments area.  Together, the parts of the building create a modern family center with a library, kitchen, dining and multi-use room, as well as training, intensive and creative area with flexible, partly external use of library, intensive and training rooms. Special fixtures are operable walls in the multi-use room, a creative space with water basin, a second play and storage area (Gallery) above the wet room area and a large outdoor terrace as a wooden deck.

To mark a visible ‘Avenue’ from downtown to the new Forum Shopping Center and Rittal Arena the massive concrete barrier of High Way B 49 had to be softened. To succeed the area had to be completely and ruthlessly transformed. Masking the 5 meter high bleak block of concrete is key to this new experience. Light wooden planks seem to grow out of the concrete, covering it and creating such a surprising and breathtaking contrast in materials that one has to look twice to believe it is really there. Absolutely unique and stunning by day its effect is intensified at night. Flooding the cold cave with interchangeable light creates a striking light sculpture visible far in the distance and at the same time lights up the actual transition area.  Principal: City of Wetzlar

Man thinks, Earth cools and heats
Absolute particularity of the PHILIPS APM building concept is the heating and cooling of the entire project on geothermal energy (32 probes to 110 m depth) - With energy costs by up to 1.40 € / m² / year (2005/2006)! In particular, the implementation in the floor space of the building was an absolute novelty  at the time of planning and creating. This modern and extremely economical building concept acknowledges all demands for flexibility, for both the concrete user and in terms of a potential third party use.

Shortly after the regime change in Thueringen: The housing development project "At the Foxholes" would become trendsetting for the City of Jena, for Jenaoptik Bau as project development and general contractor and the newly established KuBuS. The goal was to build modern but affordable housing within a sound urban building concept. A new residential area was built with 464 living units, divided into single, detached and multiplex homes. From the start the project was equally well received by investors and inhabitants and has now grown harmoniously into its surroundings. AG: Jenoptik Bauentwicklung, Jena
